The goal of the session is to share stories about how home repair nonprofits and funders can form partnerships that extend beyond financial transactions. Panelists will offer ideas for how organizations can improve their relationships with funders so that they work better for both parties. Melisa Miller, Executive Vice President at
Appalachia Service Project ,and Trudy Hughes, Vice President for Regional Advancement at
East Tennessee Foundation, will share about their partnership to fund replacement homes in Sevier County, Tennessee after the devastating wildfires in 2016. Trish Patterson, Executive Director of
Holston Habitat for Humanity and Mike Behel, Holston Habitat Board Member and representative of First Baptist Church in Kingsport, will share about the church's history as a financial supporter of the nonprofit, as well as a provider of significant leadership and construction volunteer support. Ginger Keller-Ferguson, a fundraising consultant with
KFA Nonprofit Funding Solutions, will also share her insights in this 90-minute session. Allyson Petry, Executive Director of
Nazareth Farm, will moderate the panel.
